1. All I can tell you is when we were already in Hawaii, Honolulu it cost 80 dollars round trip to go to Hilo back in 1999. Check out some links below.
2. well, first MAY I KNOW HILO , iam not sure is that phil ? If that is PHIL , I think via HONGKONG...AS far as iam concerned , the estimate is 800$ one way... YET I will survey tom what airlines got a cheapest nor lowest..

4. If anyone is flying direct to Hilo from the Bay Area it is ATA. Your options are SFO to Honolulu and then interisland to Hilo or UAL and Aloha fly from the Bay Area to Kona and you could then drive to Hilo. Use Expedia, Orbitz or Kayak (.com) to get pricing. You may get a better price if you ticket SFO to HNL and then get another ticket on Hawaiian, Aloha or GO for the HNL to Hilo part. But also price the full route to compare. Hawaiian out of SFO may offer a deal.
5. This time of year the cheapest I could find was $489.95 courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines. I didn't bother checking the rest because they're the only airline I trust. They're #1 in the country for customer service and on-time departure/arrival. If you're flying anywhere from the west coast to Hawaii, Hawaiian Air is always the best. Plus, if you sign up for their frequent flier program, Hawaiian Miles, you can easily earn enough miles to save tons of money.
